Developed in the 60's by martial arts master Takayuki Kobuta, the "Kobutan" is an inconspicuous and effective self-defense tool that can be taken anywhere. While modern kobutans are usually constructed out of metals or high-impact plastics, we wanted to create something that felt more personal...more alive.
Kubotans can be a game-changer in a fight. Much like a roll of quarters, they increase punching force when used as a fist-load. In a point-forward grip, the tapered end can put pressure on sensitive parts of the body to gain compliance. Reverse to a point-down grip and you have that the ability to break attackers down with devastating hammer strikes. And the best parts?: They weigh almost nothing.
All of our kubotans are hand-crafted from domestic or exotic hardwoods. We encourage you to choose the species that resonates most with you. They are coated and sealed with boiled linseed oil to preserve the unique textures of the wood. The thumb-ramp and finger-groves are expertly placed to fit comfortably in your hand. Paracord is included for retention.
